FUEL OIL

By distillation process of crude oil, some amount of fuel oil is obtained as residue or as compound. Generally, fuel oil is used for heat generation in a boiler or furnace or for power generation in an engine and its flash point is around 40 °C (104 °F). Thus, it is a type of diesel fuel. Fuel oil contains long hydrocarbon chains especially like alkanes, cycloalkanes and aromatic structures. Heavy fuel oil may be used as commercial type of fuel because it has high amount of gasoline and naphtha.

FUEL OIL TYPES:
M100:Also called as Mazut 100, this fuel oil type has low quality and is used in electric plants and similar applications. In USA and Western Europe, this product is further treated and diesel products are obtained. M100 used to be used for residential heating in old USSR times and in the far east, you didn’t have to treat petrochemicals furter. In western countries, M100 powered furnaces generally used to be called as “waste heater” or “waste oil furnaces”. M100 used to be produced only by Iran, Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. As its BTU supply capability is high, it used to be used in big furnaces in order to produce steam. The most important property of M100 is that it can be affected by the sulphur content of source raw material. For shipping, this product is considered as a "dirty oil” certainly and greatly affected whether it is possible to pump or transport or not, and this is because the product has unique requirements. M100 is the product obtained from crude oil after the separation of Oil #6 and gasoline and the other lighter products.

The main difference between M100 varieties is the amount of sulphur contained.

”Very Low Sulphur” M100 with 0.5%sulphur content.
”Low Sulphur” M100 with 0.5-1.0%sulphur content
“Normal Sulphur” M100 with 1.0-2.0% sulphur content
”High Sulphurt” M100 with 2.0-3.5% sulphur content

Very low sulphur grade is generally obtained when raw material that has low sulphur content is used.

2-M180:Also called as Mazut 180, this fuel oil type has low quality and is used in electric plants and similar applications. In USA and Western Europe, this product is further treated and diesel products are obtained. M180 used to be used for residential heating in old USSR times and in the far east, you didn’t have to treat petrochemicals further.
